Before you put video to WhatsApp, you should know:

The maximum video file size for WhatsApp is 16MB. That equals about a 16 seconds MP4 video in 1920x1080, 25FPS. To upload a long video that is larger than 16MB, WhatsApp has a built-in video editor, allowing you to trim the video . How to Post YouTube Video to WhatsApp

You can directly share the YouTube link on WhatsApp using steps below.

Step 1: Open the video on YouTube you’d like to post on WhatsApp.

Step 2: Click SHARE button under the video, and you’ll see the video URL. Copy the YouTube link.

Step 3: Go back to WhatsApp, open the chat, and paste the link.

Step 4: Tap the Send icon and share the link on WhatsApp.

Alternatively, some choose to download videos from YouTube on your computer and send to WhatsApp Web.

Step 2: Launch the program and download videos from YouTube to your computer.

How to Send Video to Whatsapp on iPhone

Step 1: Open WhatsApp for iPhone, and open a chat.

Step 2: Tap the Attach icon.

Step 3: Select the video you’d like to upload to WhatsApp on iPhone. Click the Camera icon to record a new video clip for uploading.

Step 4: Add a caption to the video you are going to send to WhatsApp.

Step 5: Tap the Send icon at the top of the screen and the uploading process will begin.

Tips: iPhone 7 or later running iOS 11 can capture video in HEVC that is not used by WhatsApp. If you have existing videos on iPhone are in HEVC format, use a HEVC video converter to convert them to MP4, AVI, MOV or other format accepted by WhatsApp. The same applies to upload HEIC photos to WhatsApp from iPhone - you should convert HEIC to JPG format before uploading.

How to Add Video to WhatsApp from Android/Windows Phone

Step 1: Open a chat and tap the attach icon on the top left of the screen.

Step 2: Tap Video > Record button to start recording a video for WhatsApp uploading.

Step 3: After the video recording is completed, add a caption to the video.

Step 4: Tap Send to upload the recorded video to WhatsApp on Android or Windows phones.

To upload existing videos from Android phones to WhatsApp, tap the attach icon, the tap Gallery > Videos, select a video you want to share, add a caption and tap Send button to send video from Android/Windows phones to WhatsApp.

To upload video to WhatsApp web successfully, make sure you have stable internet connection on your phone and computer. Update your web browser to the latest version if you are using the old version.

Step 1: Navigate to WhatsApp web from your phone, and log in with your WhatsApp account. Note that WhatsApp currently is only available for iPhone 8 or later, Android, Windows Phone 8.0 and 81, Nokia S60, Nokia S40 EVO, Blackberry (10). It happens from time to time that WhatsApp fails to process video uploading. For instance, “the video could not be sent, please choose a different video and try again.” “File format not supported”, “Failed to process video. Please try again later. If you keep seeing this message, please restart your phone.” “File size too large. This video file is too large.” Try solutions below if you are unable to send videos to WhatsApp.

* Make sure your device has an active internet connection.

* Reduce the video file size if your video is larger than 16MB.

* Change the video file format using a robust video converter if you receive the “file format not supported” message.
